Recently all my shopping energy has been focused on Ebay bidding. After years of asking friends where they got their amazing London Fog trench coat or Mexican poncho and hearing “Ebay!” I finally got my PayPal account up and running and am now maniacally obsessed with perusing the best Ebay stores to find gorgeous, one-of-a-kind pieces. Even though I know that by sharing these with you I will be creating more competition for myself, I feel like some of these are just too good not to be supported and talked about.
Crystallized has an eclectic mix of 70s, 80s and 50s pieces including outerwear and a great selection of sheer pieces which are perfectly on-trend for this spring and summer.
When I first began researching Ebay vintage stores, one name kept popping up again and again - Indie Cult Vintage. This store specializes in more eclectic, one-of-a-kind pieces from burnout velvet kimonos to accordion pleated 70s maxis like the one pictured above. The store has built up some name brand recognition so the pieces here can get quite pricey and are snapped up rapidly - these bids are bloodbaths!
Much like Indie Cult, Thrifted prides itself on offering unique, standout pieces that you won’t find anywhere else. Luckily for shoppers, their prices are more affordable! Thrifted does an impeccable job of providing ample information about each piece, even going so far as to explain certain fabrics or styles (how else do you think I learned about the burnout process for velvet?)
Playground Vintage has plenty of 90s grunge pieces and cute dresses from the past 3 decades. This lesser-known store has great prices on some really interesting items, including bell-sleeved 70s caftan dresses and the amazing wide-leg palazzo pant jumpsuit seen above.
I’m partial to Sisters of the Black Moon because they’re located here in my hometown of Austin, Texas, but even if that weren’t the case I’d still be fawning all over each one of their pieces because the selection is so exquisitely good! True to their Texas roots, Sisters of the Black Moon offer plenty of Southwestern-inspired pieces and insanely good 70s caftan dresses, capes, and more. This store also sells accessories and shoes too, including fringed vests, leather tooled purses, and Minnetonka boots.
