Well, hello there! Remember me? I’m the girl who used to write in this thing occasionally. I’ve been away from the internets living out there in the world with these things called “people.” We talk to one another and do stuff! It’s wild!
I have been trying to get as much friend-time as possible packed into each and every day so this little guy has been neglected during my social renaissance. I have been busying myself with movies at the Paramount, Schlitterbahn with some crazy girls, non-stop yoga, and the Ultimate Birthday Extravagantico that is June. Every year I forget that June is the month of birthdays, I swear every person I’ve ever met was born in June! Yesterday we went to the San Jose Hotel for Jesse’s bday, today is Abigail’s bday (kiddie pool, anyone?!), Sunday is Ben’s birthday, and Monday is Chris Camp’s birthday. Phew! I’m exhausted just typing all that out!
As for blogging? Lately I’ve been feeling so uninspired when I stand in front of my closet, perusing my clothes. I tried to reorganize everything (by item instead of by color as it was previously) but to no avail, everything seems unappealing. I think a large part of this has to do with the weather lately. It’s getting to that point in the year when it’s just too damn hot to wear anything but the shortest of booty shorts and a very thin tank top and even that will render you absolutely drenched in sweat. It’s hard to pick a cute outfit when you know you’re just going to perspire your way through the day anyway. Seriously, who decided it would be a good idea to set up camp in a humid, boggy mess where it’s frequently 100+ degrees during the summer months?!

To that end, it’s been a non-stop rotation of obscenely short skirt, tube tops, denim microshorts and flips flops. Oh, and my bathing suit. Yesterday I switched out a short skirt for a longer one in the name of decency:

Tonight I will be attending my first ever wedding. Since I’ve never been to one, I decided I should do a little research on what to wear - what is deemed appropriate and whatnot. I don’t have much experience with the whole wedding thing (all my friends are either gay, so they can’t get married, or intelligent, so they don’t want to get married, or both) so I spent some time poring over wedding blogs - both professional and those belonging to the bright-eyed young brides-to-be who meticulously lay out every detail of their impending big day. I read about handmade centerpieces, rules on allowing your bridesmaids to select their own dresses, and finally, what to wear as a guest.
The number of ridiculous rules for both members of the wedding party and their guests is quite overwhelming. Female guests are not to wear white (bride’s color) nor black (too sombre). They cannot wear strapless dresses. Dark colors are appropriate for evening weddings only. Cocktail dresses are acceptable unless the wedding invitation specifies white or black tie. Cocktail dresses must be of an respectable length (I assume this means my micro-mini black dress it out).
Needless to say, I had to find something new and got lucky at the Anthropologie sale rack with this gorgeous, 50s-cut floral frock a few months ago. For those of you still looking for the perfect wedding outfit and hoping to find something you’ll still want to wear after the wedding season is over, here are some suggestions:

1. Across the Land Dress, $138
2. Riley Envelope Clutch in Teal, $45
3. Mengarelli, $80
More after the cut!

I’ve been away for so long that I think I forgot how to take photos and pose for them too! I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve become completely lazy in how I dress. It’s been mostly jeans, flats and tank tops - perfect for work and the increasingly warm days.
As many of you know, my car was totaled two weekends ago by a drunk driver. I’ve had to deal with so much insurance mess and it’s quite stressful. On top of that, I’ve increased my workout load so I’m doing yoga about 4-5 times a week instead of 2-3 and I’m working on freelance stuff in addition to my full-time job so —- this was the one thing that had to lapse. I’m back now though! And feeling rejuvenated after yesterday’s thunderstorms and today’s hot yoga class. I’m looking forward to this weekend - tomorrow we have a wedding and on Sunday yoga + Barton Springs! What are your weekend plans?
