Is That You, John Wayne? Is this me?

SHIRT: Lulu’s (similar)
HOOP EARRINGS: vintage, from my mother

To explain the lack of quality photos lately, without Eric I don’t have anyone readily available to take outfit photos so it’s just me and my Mac. Eventually I’ll get a tripod (but first, a job!) and then I’ll be an independent woman:

Until then, shoddy Photobooth photos will have to suffice unless I can get Matt or Megan to agree to be my photographer.

Anyway, I was feeling a little blue earlier for a number of reasons and didn’t know quite how to cope with it. My usual coping mechanism of go-to-bar-get-quite-drunk didn’t sound very fun so instead I went and did over two hours of yoga. First, Lance’s 6pm Hatha class. Then, Mary’s 7:30pm Hatha Flow class. That helped a little bit, but I was still a little lonely and a little melancholy.

Which is probably why I found myself at 10:30pm at HEB scouring the shelves for vanilla extract and brown sugar so as to bake Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Also known as my favorite cookies. Also known as the reason I live. I used this recipe from Bakergirl and didn’t change anything because I’m not enough of an experienced baker to tinker with things. Although next time I may throw some coconut in there because I have some lying around.

A quick word about Bakergirl - she is by far my favorite cooking/baking blog mistress because her photos are amazing. It’s basically cookie porn.

Anyway, my photos are far crummier (sorry) but here’s a look at the finished product. I’ve already eaten like.. 6 of them. Oops. Main complaint: insufficient oats! To be remedied next time.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, yes, baking helped my mood. Also, Blue Planet narrated by David Attenborough.
