City Wide Garage Sale | Austin, Tx | April 30th

For as long as I’ve lived in Austin (8 years!) I’ve wanted to go to the City Wide Garage Sale. For some reason, it’s taken me this long to finally go but yesterday Eric and I made the trip down to the Palmer Events Center to check out some of the vendors and vintage housewares.

The entire exhibition space is taken over by hundreds of vendors offering everything from 50s dresses to Native American jewelry to farm style furniture and vintage stemware. It was fortunate for me that Eric was there because I was having a hard time controlling my spending!

I found an incredible authentic rabbit fur coat for $12. TWELVE DOLLARS. And it’s in mint condition - soft fur, perfect lining, everything intact. I could barely believe it.

Could not stop staring at this gorgeous blue dresser, I must’ve pointed it out to Eric 4 or 5 times.

We found an incredible crochet blanket with a beautiful design for only $28. I fell in love with it when I saw it because it reminded me of my grandmother’s house in Brazil.

We also found some vintage stemware for our bar. They’re a lovely amber yellow which, according to the antique dealer, had been highly unpopular when they were first released in the 70s. The majority of the collection was recalled to Japan and destroyed!
