SIGH.
I’m having a hard time organizing my closet. I have too many clothes, shoes, accessories and not enough space. It’s time to get creative. After my last post about trying to clean out my closet, my friend Tory had the following suggestions:
“this depends upon how much you want to deal with a level and a hammer, but in my old apartment i always wanted to do this and never got around to it… in my living room, whoever had lived there before me had hung a lot of little frames or something, and so there were all of these pair of nails in the walls, and i thought it would be neat to hang shoes from them, like, by the heel, so it looked like they were ‘standing’ on the wall. capisci? so you could do that in columns down your wall by your closet. or have them tango or charleston or something, depending upon how complex you want to get with it. but that frees up floor space in your closet that you could use for laundry bins or boxes of accessories, and it’s bound to look pretty, ‘cause God knows you’ve got cool lookin’ shoes. those are my suggestions thus far; wall shoes and suitcases. really, just merchandise the living hell out of your room. make it your own personal little boutique. could be fun, would be lovely. ciao, baci. - t”
Thanks Tory! In addition, Deb suggested a vintage trunk to store scarves and other winter accessories which I rarely use. I actually do have a vintage trunk which I love, but it’s packed full of purses! Amanda, I couldn’t really understand your suggestion, come over and show me!
