Barneys NY Murders Mannequins!

Tucked away inside Barneys are two display windows between doors which are hidden from the streetwalking public.

It is in these vestibules that Barney’s visual merchandisers created these bizarre, but fascinating, pieces of.. art?

In each, a mannequin wearing a gown (one from Helmut Lang) is depicted in the midst of their death throes. One collapsing over a chair and one sliding down a wall.

Macabre are though they may be, it’s an intriguing idea and in my opinion, a fantastic one. It combines my two great loves - fashion and horror. I wonder how much controversy these will stir up…
