This is the outfit I wore last night for Naomi’s birthday dinner/drinks!
Sometimes when I go shopping and I’m in a rush I end up binge mistake shopping wherein I buy a bunch of shit because I’m trying to be quick and it’s stressing me out. Most of the time when this happens I get home, try stuff on and either I hate it or it doesn’t fit so then I just have to end up taking it back and I despise returning things probably almost as much as the poor sales assistants who have to endure doing returns.
That being said, last night Kate and I power shopped for an hour before going out with Naomi and the other girls and I can’t believe how lucky I got. Perhaps I’m getting better at picking things out or am more familiar with shapes/colors/patterns that suit my body type, but I got home and everything slipped on like a dream.
I don’t typically like very form fitting dresses because I have very, very big hips which I insanely disproportionate to the rest of my body. However, the moment I saw the print of this dress I had to have it, I didn’t care what it fit like, I figured I’d just wear it as a shirt! I am obsessed with the geometric, 70s-esque print and the bright colors.
Also, I like that it’s short and fitted around the hips, but loose and baggy at the top. I think if you’re going to look like a big skank from the waist down then up top has to be demure.
Otherwise you end up looking like a hooker, right?
In any case, the skirt is very short and tight, but I think it made my legs/butt look great. And I’m sort of obsessed with the oversized, tunic-like sleeves. They’re sensual, flattering and breezy!
Oh, also the earring were $3 and are chunky gold dangling daggers with red in the center. What a find!
