Throwback Vintage
This afternoon after work I had the privilege of going to check out Throwback Vintage - a new vintage store on the southside of town.
Located above Strut, Throwback Vintage is owned by Jav (who owns the Strut boutique chain here in Austin) and managed by Robyn. When I worked at Strut, Robyn was my manager and she’s always had pretty impeccable style - the majority of her outfits had this sweet Southern, almost hippie/flower child aesthetic to them. I always envied her ability to find great thrifted pieces and vintage house goods. For the store, Robyn scoured a variety of local resources for great pieces and arranged them in an eye catching way about the second story space.

As of now the store has mostly housewares - artwork, knick knacks, ornaments, dishes, lamps, records etc. A few vintage clothing items and shoes are thrown in there but selection as of now is pretty sparse.

The prices are ridiculously low, especially in comparison to most local vintage boutiques. The shoes in the photo above were a mere $10 and are in impeccable quality (they are also incredibly cute, although the image does them no justice). Leslie ended up getting them and I bought a lamp for $20 (which would have been well over $40 at Room Service Vintage!).

Expect to see the assortment of clothing increase as the girls, mostly Robyn, continue to go out of their way to hunt down cute goods. This may be a good place to cull through for cheaper vintage goods!
