I'm thankful for...
I’m visiting my parents in Houston for the Thanksgiving holiday - 4 luxurious days of eating, sleeping in, watching movies, and general relaxation. I arrived yesterday morning to 80 degree weather and since then the temperature has dropped to a miserable 33 degrees! My sister is trying to convince us to go on a walk to see all the holiday lights and Christmas decor but seeing as how we are...

Gifts for Boys - Holidays 2010
Every year I compile a list of gifts for boys for the holiday season (check out what I recommended last year). Typically the list includes things I could never purchase - either because I can’t afford them, or because my boyfriend would never use/wear them, but I compile it based on what I would want were I a guy (although some of these would work well for girls too!). More gift...

What to Wear: NYE
I know it’s crazy early to be thinking about NYE, but if you’re like me you leave everything to the last minute and find yourself scouring empty racks on December 28th for a fantastic new year’s outfit only to discover that everything is gone and the only remaining items are gaudy, child-sized or triple XL. I have a habit of doing this ever year - on Halloween, Christmas, New...

Seems Like Old Times
Last night was our (sort of) 2 year anniversary! Hooray for selecting arbitrary dates and then eating fancy food!
Eric had made a reservation at Annie’s downtown, a restaurant I kept hearing good things about but had yet to experience. The place is really lovely - huge ceiling, exposed brick, art nouveau-esque scooped bar.
Also, the truffle french fries with aioli are delicious!
Eric...

Fun Fun Fun Fashion
Favorite couple of the day. Her shawl is from Saver’s!
I ran into Dan during Best Coast. He, like most people at FFF, was trying to keep the dust cloud from filling up his lungs. I saw a lot of people rocking the bandito look (see below). By the end of night 2 I was also trying to cover my nose/mouth/eyes in a desperate attempt to keep the dust out.

Die Hand die verletzt
1. GWAR I saw GWAR last night at FunFunFun Fest for the 2nd time this year and they were, by far, the highlight of my first day at the festival. Each time I see them they put so much energy and power into their shows, it’s really a full-body experience to see them live. GWAR manages to outperform and outdo any other band at a festival (even Andrew WK at SXSW who performed just before them)...

Boots Made for Walkin'
Last year’s boots were all about the 80’s punk-inspired military aesthetic - black combat boots and studs, spikes, pyramids on everything. This year’s trends focus on a more rustic, Americana look which is wonderful for me since that matches me much more than black/studded things! Tall, creamy brown leather riding boots; mid-calf, boho boots; ankle-high Victorian inspired boots....

Whether the Weather
This week the weather has oscillated from breezy and spring-like in the mid-70s to downright Arctic and frigid hovering in the mid-40s (this is Arctic to Texans, ok?). What this means, sartorially speaking, is that I have had to pull out winter clothes without putting away summer clothes. One day I’m wearing sandals, the next it’s sweaters, hats, coats. MONDAY:
DRESS: UO CARDIGAN:...
