At Home with Chloë Sevigny: Part 1
Your secret best friend offers a peek inside her closet and confirms suspicions that she’s totally cute and rad. Also, pink is one of my favorite colors too so Chloe and I are basically twins.

Meowsgiving
Happy meowsgiving everyone! Unlike last year, this Thanksgiving was spent in Austin at my sister’s apartment. We ate leftover pizza because there wasn’t enough time to cook the turkey before my sister had to go to work and then my dad built a table while my mom and I watched Parks & Rec. It was kind of depressing.
I’ve been up since 6:45am because I had to take...

Hail to the Guardians of the Watchtower of the...
Unnaturally obsessed with every piece of jewelry from With Asian Stereotypes and coveting so many things that I can hardly contain myself. Their gothic inspired accessories - replete with inverted crosses, talons, skulls, etc - hearken to the 90s goth aesthetic and channel the witches of The Craft (also known as, my style icons).

It's You
Oh hello! Look! I wore some clothes (full disclosure: I’ve been wearing clothes this whole time). It’s been so long since I did this that I forgot how to pose and look really awkward in all my photos (nothing new there) and also I had to take about 200 photos to get a few decent ones because I don’t know how to use this camera or stand without looking weird.

The Death of Evelyn McHale
On Mary 1, 1947, Evelyn McHale leapt off the observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York City and plummeted 1,050 feet to her death on the street below. She was twenty years old. Photography student Robert Wiles took the above photo of McHale just moments after her death. It ran in the May 12, 1947 issue of Life magazine with the following caption:
“At the bottom of the...

All I want in life is a job I love, the ability to speak Italian and German fluently, a house on the beach, enough money to travel, a new tattoo, a boy who can cook, my yoga certification, and these JEFFREY CAMPBELL COSMIC LITAS.
At a mere $162 (die), who could refuse!?

Vintage Vivant!
Last night I attended my first Vintage Vivant evening at the Swan Dive downtown. Vintage Vivant is a monthly fete that celebrates the halcyon days of the Jazz Age - replete with 20s cocktails, black and white movies, live music, flappers, feathers, and all the other accouterments befitting that decade. I went with my friend Naomi who wore a fantastic vintage dress that she purchased in an L.A...

MedMob Austin
Earlier today Megan and I went to the MedMob gathering at the capital building here in Austin. MedMob is a gathering of people meditating in a public space and sending positive energy out into the world! MedMob begins with an hour of meditation and concludes with about 10 minutes of chanting “om” in what is known as a sound bath.
The sound bath was incredible! The sound...

To explain the lack of quality photos lately, without Eric I don’t have anyone readily available to take outfit photos so it’s just me and my Mac. Eventually I’ll get a tripod (but first, a job!) and then I’ll be an independent woman:
Until then, shoddy Photobooth photos will have to suffice unless...

What's New, Pussycat?
I felt I had to write and update you guys as to my recent life developments and upheavals, of which there have been many. The following anecdote really sums up the ridiculousness and chaos that has been my life as of late:
So I drove to Houston late last night to visit my parents for my mother’s birthday (which is today! Happy Birthday mom!) and arrived at 11pm. The first thing my parents...

Journey to Vrschikasana
Once again I return from a prolonged absence. My desire to blog hasn’t evaporated, but it has been somewhat replaced by a need/desire to spend as much time as possible with my friends before I leave for NYC in a few weeks. Today is my last day of work after which I may have more time to dedicate to this guy, but I fully intend to spend as much time swimming, eating bbq, and being with people...

Little Black Dress
Not to sound like a page ripped out of a 1993 edition of Vogue, but the Little Black Dress is a staple of any woman’s closet. I realize it’s cliche, but there is an element of truth to the statement - a black cocktail dress is perfect for almost any occasion.
Black will always be chic and stylish, and depending on the length of dress you select, the LBD can go...

Summer 2011 Rings | Jewelry Trends
My jewelry style has remained the same for a very long time - Native American rings, long, layered necklaces, and one statement earring. I don’t often take risks with jewelry because I’ve found a look that works for me and that I know how to style, but this summer’s jewelry trends are lovely and have me inkling to experiment and try something new. In keeping with this...

Fashion History: The Peter Pan Collar
Named for the eponymous hero of the J.M. Barrie classic, the peter pan collar has long been popular with both boys and girls. In 1953, Disney replaced the original soft, rounded collar of the boy-who-never-grew-up with a jagged v-neck for their animated film adaptation. Although we now know this sweet, feminine collar as the “peter pan collar,” it had a different name in the 19th...
